According to an online report, 91 of respondents to a survey about their health believe exercising at a health club would improve their overall health, though only 18 percent of those surveyed actually belong to one. This same survey found that lack of time to be the leading reason why Americans don’t exercise. Lack of support from the respondent’s family was also cited as reason why people do not get enough exercise. And according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), two-thirds of American adults do not engage in regular leisure-time physical activity.

What if getting fit was made simpler for you and your family? Wouldn’t you tend to exercise more, perhaps even making getting and staying fit a family goal and activity? What if recreational opportunities were available nearby to your home? Imagine biking or walking daily as a way to not only bring your family together in a mutually-enjoyable activity, but also as a way to enjoy the outdoors and increase cardio. Perhaps a swim in the local pool a few times a week might ease those stiff joints. Regular exercise such as tennis or a quick game of pick-up basketball is a great way to keep you feeling good and getting the critical activity you need.

Luckily, clubhouse communities such as Highland Woods in Elgin feature clubhouses, parks and other recreational opportunities designed to make it easy for you to get fit and enjoy the outdoors. Here, you’ll find:

  • a state-of-the-art fitness room
  • a water park including large pools for lap swimming
  • sports courts
  • 196 acres of open space
  • seven parks
  • over five miles of trails and paths

Come visit Highland Woods today and see how getting and staying healthy can be as much pleasure as simply living in this wonderful community.
