Elgin Summer Family Fun: Ride for Life on June 17

Fox TrailWhen you live in Elgin, you live in a very bike-friendly community. At Highland Woods, you can enjoy the community bike paths. You also are just minutes from the Fox River Bike Trail, a 36 mile trail that is open 7 days a week from dawn until dusk. Your ride will take you winding along the Fox River, showing you beautiful prairie grass, blooming flowers, and lots of trees and wooded areas. The trail extends from Aurora (south) to Algonquin (north).

On Saturday, June 17, the City of Elgin and South Elgin’s Village Pedaler are sponsoring the 2nd annual Ride for Life, which consists of flat to rolling rural roads. You can choose between the 25 or 60 mile routes, or a 15-mile family friendly route on trails.

  • When: Saturday, June 17, beginning at 10 am.
  • Where: Beginning at Village Pedaler, 1954 Gyorr Ave, South Elgin
  • Register: Online using the www.Active.com link, $3.25 surcharge, or register the day of at the Village Pedaler
