Summer Family Fun: Elgin Summer Concert Series
When you live in Elgin, you will never have a shortage of entertainment, especially in the summer months. This summer, the City of Elgin is hosting a free concert series in the Wing Park Bandshell, continuing a much loved tradition.
Concerts are free, and mostly are held on Tuesdays in June or July at 7pm. So come and join 300-500 other Elginites for this fun series! Bring your lawn chairs or blankets, relax, and enjoy live music, refreshments sold by local community groups, and the company of friends from the area.
Here is this summer’s schedule and descriptions from Elgin Parks and Recreation:
Sunday, June 24 – Barbershoppers (3:00pm)
Enjoy one of Elgin’s own vocal a cappella groups “Minutemen of Harmony”. It won’t take you long to discover they are just a bunch of regular guys from all walks of life with one thing in common….the love of singing in the barbershop style!
June 26 – The Chi-Town Showstoppers
This 12-piece ensemble is truly a class act, garnering rave reviews at every performance around Chicagoland, from summer festivals and corporate events to private parties and weddings. Put on your dancing shoes, and prepare to be blown away!
July 10 – PennyMaeDixon Band
The members of the PennyMaeDixon Band deliver high energy, country music, that gets your attention, and off your feet. An explosive show you don’t want to miss!
July 17 – Aurora American Legion Band
The band is a group of dedicated patriotic musicians–veterans and non-veterans alike–who have a common goal: make good music and have fun doing it. The band performs a varied program and music styles to appeal to each listener so make sure not to miss this one!
July 24 – Midwest Dueling Pianos
Their interactive musical comedy experience will have you singing, shouting, dancing and laughing. They are energetic and exciting entertainers that perform on an all request driven show with music ranging from the songs of today, to as far back as you can take them!
July 31 – He Said, She Said
Playing classic rock gems like The Who’s “Baba O’Riley” and Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run” to dance party hits like Dee- Lites “Groove is in the Heart” and Pink’s “So What” He Said She Said shows can best be described as rock solid pandemonium, designed to make you kick up your feet and party!
