Summer Family Fun: Movies in the Park at Festival Park

16 July 2012 No Comment

movies-in-the-parkWhen you live at Highland Woods in Elgin, you are a part of a town that loves to entertain its residents. This summer, the city is continuing its tradition of Movies in the Park on Thursdays in July and August. The movies are free and shown on a huge inflatable movie screen at sundown. Beginning at 7, the city hosts activities based on the movie’s theme, refreshments sold by nonprofits, and $2 train rides around the park on the “Elgin Express”. Bring your blanket or lawn chairs to sit on and bug spray, and join the fun! The schedule is as follows:

  • What: Movies in the Park
  • When: Thursdays in July and August (and one Tuesday) at 7pm
  • Bring: A blanket or lawn chair, money for refreshments or train rides, and snacks and drinks for your kids if you prefer!
  • Schedule:
Thursday, July 19: Puss in Boots
    Thursday, July 26: The Sandlot
    Thursday, August 2: Tangled
Tuesday, August 7: The Adventures of TinTin

So join the community for this summer’s movies in the park!
